Mottled Ju88 T-1, by Flak Magnet

This historical mod depicts a Ju88-T1 recon aircraft. While the T-1 model had no cannons on the bottom of the fuselage, I have left the aircraft complete with all it's teeth, since I know that
someone will come up with a mission where the recon flights get jumped. If anyone wishes to change this, and make it historically correct body-wise (AND J-file wise), feel free. Comes
complete with windows in the nose section, historic mottling, and climbing rungs to aid boarding. It comes in 512 resolution; For use with all terrains. Special thanks go to Hutch, who gave the
green light for this mod.

HISTORICAL INFO: This aircraft was flown by Erich Sommer. Recon planes of ALL types flew at 30,000 feet and mapped all Russian bases and troop
locations, prior to Operation Barbarrosa, as well as providing the 1st recon photos of the Normandy invasion.

Vale - Erich Sommer

Former Luftwaffe Oberleutnant, Erich Sommer passed away on December 26, 2005 aged 93 years.

Erich joined the Luftwaffe before the outbreak of WW2 and was ultimately called up' for service when hostilities broke out. Erich trained
as a navigator and later as a pilot, operating in the North Sea , United Kingdom , France and Italy in aircraft including Heinkel 111, Junkers
86 (R), Junkers 88 (T) and Arado 234.

It is his association with the Arado 234 jet series that Erich is most widely known, involved in its development and operational use. His
flight on 2/8/44 in Ar234 V7 over the Normandy Front being the first jet reconnaissance flight in the world and providing the Luftwaffe the
first and best photographic intelligence of the Allied invasion in France.

Erich had become a friend to all of us associated with ACE', a gentle and caring man but with a razor's edge intellect. Erich collaborated
with artist Barry Spicer to produce several artworks over the years, two of them going to print adorned with his autograph. The passage of
time had not dulled Erich's meticulous eye for detail ensuring that Barry's reproductions could stand the highest scrutiny.

We will miss him.
